The Jarl's Longhouse in Falkreath is another well known spot.  There's the quest you can pick up from the Jarl to deal with some bandits which will then lead to the ability to purchase the land Lakeview Manor is on.  Do a few more things around Falkreath and the Jarl will make you Thane.  Now, the Jarl changes depending on at what point you're at in the main questline.  If you get there early, the Jarl is Siddgeir, who seems rather foppish, is more concerned with riches and wealth and making dea
