Dariem Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hello everyone, I'm trying to get the game running with some mods but after I press the "Launch Oblivion + OBSE 20.6" in the Wrye Bash, the game opens, but crashes at the bethesda logo (sometimes at mid of the animation, sometimes almost at the end of the animation of the bethesda logo) and if I press Esc it will go to the Loading screen but still crashes when a certain time period passes. When checking the Problem Signature (that window from Windoes, that opens when something creashes) It says that the Name of the Problem Event (sorry for the rough translation) is APPCRASH, and the name of the application and the name of the application with faults is Oblivion.exe. Ark of Truth Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Try removing your saves from your saves folder if you have any in there. What sound card are you using? Some sound cards are not compatible with Oblivion. Do you have more then one screen for your PC?
Dariem Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 I have no saves. It was a fresh install. I'm using (Realtek High Definition Audio) EAX Advanced HD 5.0. I'm only using one laptop.
Nite_Star Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Seems like you have a plugin installed that requires another mod to work properly, hence the CTD @ logo, mine does that hence why I installed Nexus Mod Manager and it is useful to see what other plugins a mod needs to work. Oblivion Mod Manager does not do this. But then again could be other reasons like, 1: The copy is a legit copy or a cracked copy, if legal fully patched, 2: Oblivion Script Extender has to be up to date, 3: In game settings like LOD, FOV all the little tweaks need to be set right, then again is ya laptop powerful enough to run it..

Oblivion Mod Manager does not do this. Indeed, crash at start is mostly caused by missing dependency.

For starters if you downloaded lovers plugins from there, then they may not be compatible with ours. Each site translates their own versions of plugins. It can cause issues if you try mixing our plugins with theirs as they often are not compatible due to changes made during translating. My advice is if you downloaded plugins from hongfire then ask for help over there. If you are downloading plugins from both the pick one site or the other and install ONLY that sites plugins. If decide to go with the plugins on this site then we would be happy to try to help but you need to follow the guides and recommended load orders we put up. This is not about insulting hongfire, it is just that we don't know (or care) what they have as we have our own versions and install directions. One thing you might look into is that I don't think beat'em up is supposed to be used with raperS and maybe not even with joburg. Not real sure on this as this site has never translated that particular plugin as there just hasn't been any requests for it.

Most of the hongfire plugins are out of date and simply won't work correctly with our versions. Examples: Lovers creatures 2.0 won't work without using Loverslab rev96v2 base pack. Lovers creatures 2.0 is a combo of the original lovers creatures and Donkey's new and improved animations pack. LC 2.0 is no longer compatible with those two as the ini format has changed. There are many more little things that I could list but I think you can get the picture. How can we help someone if they install out of date plugins from another site? The answer of course is we really can't....at least not very well. Prophour bundled a bunch of stuff in his AIO and I don't recommend using it. Prophour is the name he used to go by when he was here on this site. I too would strongly push to dump the hongfire plugins and use the ones on this site as we can provide better support and the versions are more current. However the choice is up to him.

I have had problems recently simply because I had older versions of the mods not even versions from other site. I don't know anything about "hogfire" but I do know about this site. The members and moderators of this site are quick and willing to help with questions from the most basic to very advanced.

Maybe that is why mine crashes as well as video card is not recognized. But on my old Radeon HD4650 that was OK, upgraded to a 2gb 6670 now no longer does..
