SOD2 is a Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive. Meaning you need Xbox DRM to play it on console and PC. They're not fond of modding so best not try anything. Also there was  a screenshot a while back showing Steam connection problem which was deleted hinting it will come to Steam where it may be mod friendly but since its a multiplayer game who knows. Not everything works like Gmod.
