FCKGW Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Hi, after a year or so of absence, I'm starting a new modded Skyrim run. Currently I'm working on getting a basic Devious Devices setup to run. Unfortunately, the Devious Devices animations don't play. How to reproduce: Equip soulgem plug Equip chastity belt Cast any spell to trigger a Devious Devices animation. Repeat if needed. Alternative, select the belt in the inventory and choose "Masturbate" for the DDBeltedSolo animation. What I expect: An animation plays where the PC tugs on her belt or attempts to masturbate or whatever. This is what I remember from earlier play-throughs with Devious Devices. The animation takes a few seconds or longer. What happens instead: The PC goes into a figure-T shape and freezes until the "animation" is over. See the screenshot. The animation takes only about half a second. The in-game console says: "NOTICE: ValidateActor(Prisoner) -- TRUE -- HIT". Sometimes it also says "NOTICE: ValidateActor(Prisoner) -- TRUE -- MISS" All other animations (e.g. Sexlab, Sexlab Creature) work fine. Only the DD animations seem to be affected. Edit: I also just noticed that there are no plug vibration sounds. I'm using Windows 10 64-bit Skyrim Legendary Edition (installed through Steam) SKSE 1.7.3 (installed through Steam) Mod Organizer 2.1.3 XP32MSE 4.31 BodySlide 4.5.4 FNIS 7.4.4 SexLab 1.6.2 DDA 3.0e DDI 4.0 See the screenshot. I have run both BodySlide and FNIS, repeatedly (from Mod Organizer), but the issue persists. See the screenshot. After automatically re-ordering my load order through LOOT, the issue persists. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
LazyBoot Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 There has been some reports of broken DD animation when using MO 2.
FCKGW Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 Thanks for the info. I've just found this thread https://www.loverslab.com/topic/98405-animation-issues-dd-events-archery/ which seems to be the same basic issue. Another related thread: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/65650-character-constantly-t-poses-when-using-fnis-with-mod-organizer/ There the solution was to re-install the DD mods... so I'll try to play with the priorities, or manually install the mods...
FCKGW Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 No success thus far. After running FNIS, the data folder (the override folder in MO2) contains the following: tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\MyPatches.txt GENDER SKELETON DD I'm not sure why it says "DD" here, I'm pretty sure I didn't select that... Looking inside tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\temporary_logs\default_female.xml, there is a line <hkcstring>Animations\DD\DDBeltedSolo.hkx</hkcstring> which sounds good, right? It seems like FNIS does know about the animation, but did it actually... generate it? I have no idea how to tell. Edit: Removing the "DD" from the textfile above had no effect. It is automatically re-added by FNIS. I also noticed that the FNIS consistency check reported an issue related to Estrus, so I disabled the associated mods and re-ran FNIS. This did not help either.
LazyBoot Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Like I said, some people have had issues when they used Mod Organizer 2. And they had to go back to mo1 or another manager to get it working. Also, looks like having "DD" in the patch.txt is normal, I have that one in mine as well.

It is automatically added once FNIS recognizes the DD folder. One reason is that FNIS has to be a non-adult tool. And I don't want to have adult mods, not pointing to Nexus, on the patch list. I just forgot about MyPatches.txt when I introduced this new functionality. And regarding the OP's issue: I don't see, and he doesn't mention that he created an overwrite.
FCKGW Posted May 17, 2018 Author Posted May 17, 2018 The great fore himself; I'm honored. "DD" being a hidden patch makes sense. I used to have the FNIS output just in MO's "Overwrite", but now I moved it into its own mod "FNIS output". I have attached the entire contents of the "FNIS output" mod as a 7z file. I have noticed that it doesn't contain very many files. How can I tell whether FNIS has actually generated a certain animation? FNIS output.7z Edit: I tried to disable all creature-related mods and re-ran FNIS. I still get the same T-Pose for DDBeltedSolo.
FCKGW Posted May 17, 2018 Author Posted May 17, 2018 Quick update: I took all of the mod folders and manually copied them into the Skyrim folder in the same order in which they appear in Mod Organizer, then ran FNIS directly from the Skyrim folder, and the animations work. I will now attempt to figure out which mods need to be installed manually... However, I'd still like to understand the underlying issue. This appears to be an issue in either MO, or FNIS, or less likely DD, and I'd like to figure out where stuff went wrong and how to get the issue fixed upstream. Did FNIS find the animation? (It seems yes, after all DDBeltedSolo appears in the FNIS logs) Did FNIS generate the animation? Why not? Was it generated in the correct location? Why not? Did Skyrim (Sexlab? DD?) find the animation in its correct location? Why not? How can I find out more?
