Character getting killed in one hit...please help!

Hey everyone, I could really use some help with this strange issue I'm encountering.

Basically, my character is getting one hit/one shot killed by everything in the game.

For the record...I started this playthrough on Survival mode, but switched to Very Hard after deciding I'd rather use Survival in a different playthrough. I still haven't finished Fallout 4's story despite owning the game since day 1. Anyway...after a couple days of playing, I noticed my character seemed much weaker than usual. Gun shots taking nearly half my health away in one hit, stuff like that. Granted, my character is currently only level 12...but I still shouldn't have been getting one/two shot killed by the Raiders in Concord. So today I decided to lower the difficult all the way down to Very Easy...and the problem is still persisting. I've been getting one-hit killed by anything from Radroaches to low level Raiders. Does anyone know what happened to my game? I haven't tried a new character yet, mainly because I really like the playthrough I'm currently on and don't want to have to go through everything all over again. As much as I love this game...the early game can be extremely tedious.

Has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix for this issue? Or will I be forced to start a new game? Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like you have a damage scaling effect enabled, as I cannot think of anything that would do what you're describing outright.  As happenstance, I just replied to a thread in RSE where you commented - so I'm assuming you have that installed.  In the MCM of RSE, you can optionally scale the incoming (and outgoing) damage dealt.  Do you by chance have the damage scaling jacked up for your playthrough?  If they are set to anything above 1.0 which is normal, you might want to try lowering the damage.  Even if they are on 1.0 you may try lowering them and raising them back again to 1.0 just to make sure that they are actually set to the right values in the game's variables.

Failing that, we'll want to see your load order, etc.

I managed to fix the "instant death" issue which I believe was somehow related to Knockout Framework. I noticed that my character wasn't truly dying because after being "killed in one hit" by a radroach, I was teleported to Sanctuary with almost no health. I switched the death alternative in the MCM and my character is no longer being one hit killed. However, they do still seem to be taking more damage than usual.

I'm gonna check on that damage scaling slider you mentioned and then get back to you. Thanks for the response!
