Edit : So... after reading for days about copyrights, I don't think I'll ever be able to re-upload this mod. I thought songs would enter public domain 70 years post release, but in fact it's 70 years post authors' deaths. I'm pretty sad about it because everything was ready for upload. Billie Holiday's/Fats Waller's & every songs extracted from Stormy weather's 1943 movie are in public domain (or at least it seems like it, it isn't very obvious and am not a law specialist) but most of the rest I cannot use. I'm trying to find replacements for the copyrighted ones but I barely was able to get few. Don't know how Old World Radio managed to get so many songs but will investigate about it. In the meantime mod is hidden

Am new around, or at least just signed up today, and this is my first post.
I don't know much about how things works in here, so I thought that it wouldn't hurt to ask 

I started messing with the Creation Kit few days ago, and finally managed to create my first mod. It's just a little radio with few "lore-friendly" songs, picked with care, but i'm kind of... proud of it :cool:
It is already functional, works on Pip-boy and have its own workshop object. I'd like to fix a few things before uploading it, mainly some volume issues, add shuffle (Vmvariables nightmare), and would like to modify the radio object model (which I don't know how to do and couldn't find a tutorial for this yet).  I may also replace some songs that I find too lenghty and add few more.

But before doing so I wanted to know if you guys would at least be interested in it.
I also need to figure out how I can export it, where to upload it etc, but my main question is : am I allowed to upload it here & on the Nexus ? I don't know either if it would/could work "manually", meaning without NMM. And am I posting this in the wrong forum section ?

I may like Bill Evans and Billie Holiday a bit too much, to be honest the tracklist was riddled with their music and i've deleted a few. Don't know if I should keep them up :smiley:
I've tested it in game and they all fit well with the wasteland imo, but what do you think ? Too jazzy/1920-1950 focused ? Should I add a bit of "NV feels" in there (meaning Big Iron/Johnny guitar kind of songs) ?
Would you bother downloading it ?
I also take suggestions, my music knowledge has its limits :classic_biggrin:
Anyway I will keep the thread updated, cheers

Hey there, thanks for your feedback and suggestions ! I will upload it as soon as it is finished and when it'll have its custom radio model (like the ones in Old World radio)

I think I'll add the Coltrane/Ellington songs it's pretty good and would fit quite well !

I may re-up these real gems ! I just need more songs along so it would be less "noticeable" :classic_biggrin:

As for Madeleine Peyroux, yes it's a bit too modern for this Radio imo, but I have other Radio projects in mind :classic_wink: (Classic & Metal incoming, but this one would fit a Modern Jazz one)

I'm "testing" the tracklist in game at the moment, don't want the songs to be too lenghty (like "For all we know" and "Bewitched bothered & bewildered which I may delete/replace)
Also still trying to figure out how to make the custom workshop object, seems like i'll need to dabble in Nifskope/3dsMax ? (not even sure)

Actually actors voices do not bother me, quite the contrary ! It kinda adds that "lore-friendly" realism imo, along with "bad" audio and old microphones ticks & filters ! That's exactly the kind of songs i'm looking for so thanks again ! Will feature this one in the tracklist

I was just talking with someone on Nexusforum and it seems like i'll need Nifskope for the custom model, downloading it at the moment and starting messing with it tonight ! I wouldn't like to upload a radio mod without one it would kinda sadden me if it used the vanilla model, so I'll just roll up my sleeves ! Don't expect something too crazy though since it'll be my very first "model" but will do my best ! Cheers :beer:

Edit2: Final model, quite simple but I like it, it's far from those from OWR but eh that's all I can do at the moment being a noob on Photoshop
Now trying to duplicate/edit the ingame model with those textures, doesn't seem to work for some reason, textures path seems messed up. A few more days and i'll be done I think
