Weird bug: Freeze in New Lands-type mods (like Darkened) if character is not T-pose, at my wit's end... (Original SKyrim)

Good morning Lovers.

 

I'm still running regular Skyrim (not SE). Using Mod Organizer

 

So, I'm having this weird ass bug I have no clue how to solve. I'm really stumped silly.

 

I'm trying to play Darkened & Volgon Isles. But as I step forward, I eventually freeze after about 50 steps into the mods. If I stand still, game won't freeze. I have absolutely no issue in regular Skyrim, and had no issue in new lands mods such as Amarna, Ancient Egyptian Nile, Tropical Island Reloaded

 

After some testing (checked RAM and VRAM Use - all under 2GB, Graphics Card has 2048GB VRAM) and deactivating mods one by one, ran LOOT, etc... I eventually found out that I don't freeze if I'm T-Posed (by deactivating an animation mod without running FNIS again) As soon as I run FNIS again, I will start freezing. I have no clue why.

For instance, I have Real Flying with collisions activated (with its prereqs). I uncheck it (and its dependencies), I start the game without running FNIS, load up my save, walk further into Darkend -> no freeze (ESC menu crash but we'll cross that bridge later).

 

Then I close the game without saving, run FNIS -> Real Flying still deactivated, reload save, walk into mod -> crash. The only difference now is that the character actually animates, is not T-Posed.

 

However, it's not my save either: starting a new game with all my mods activated will cause the freeze... unless I force a T pose by deactivating Real Flying without running FNIS.

 

I have no clue why. I know it's not the skeleton arm fix in FNIS because freeze happened either way. I know it's not the skeleton by itself, because if I make a new game with the bare bones mod (xpmse, sexlab, hdt animated pussy, SkyUI + some dependencies) I won't freeze.

 

I know it's not a file conflict. The issue happened in Volgon (though I only tested once) but Volgon has no conflicts in its conflict tab.

 

Anyone has any idea what causes this? I'm pretty sure this is FNIS related.

In the Mod Organizer folder, there should be a folder called Profiles. In that folder should be folders for the name of the Profiles. Inside them, there should be a loadorder.txt. We need to see that.

Use  Crash Fixes if you are not already. It requires SKSE Plugin Preloader. Install both of them manually, not using MO. In CrashFixPllugin.ini set UseOSAllocators=1.

You can remove SafetyLoad.

 

In Mod Organizer, for the profile that you are trying to play, hit the Tools button at the top left and select Ini Editor. in Skyrim.ini try the following settings under the Papyrus section and then select save.

Ah, I forgot to mention, I did try ENBoost fix in my initial attempt, but it didn't do anything.

I didnt notice it earlier, but it seems you have all versions of Realistic Ragdolls active. You shouldnt really need that mod unless the flying corpses really really bother you. There is some controversy over its including a mesh and what it does to the skeletons in game. XPMSE may have required it a long time ago but no longer does. I personally dont use it anymore at all.

I had it on, only because Tropical Island Reloaded had it listed as a prerequisite. I guess I can turn it off...

In the past, only one of the force levels esp should be actrivated. These days, it seems XPMSE includes the Ragdolls code already, so the Ragdolls mod shouldnt be needed at all.

Sometimes mods list requirements that are not really 100% necessary. The Tropical Island mod may have been made before XPMSE included Ragdolls. You can try disabling Ragdolls and see if it Tropical still works.
