Artful Dodger Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Ok snowballs chance in hell but i will try anyway maybe any of you guys had this... i can't restart my pc,if i do restart,my FO4(and all other games) goes like from 60fps to 40fps,horrible lag so then i have to reinstall Nvidia drivers for my 60fps to return, until i restart again can't figure out what's happening, never had this before,so something makes some changes to drivers after restart,or what?
Guest Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 In hell may snow. But you are not allowed to touch it. Just see it. Depending on your OS, try to do a complete uninstall of the graphic card drivers, including the option *but this only on Win 8.1 and 10) to delete the drivers files. Restart, do not let win to automatically get the new drivers on the restart (only Win10.) uninstall all extra nVidia tools (nVidia experience and such.) Shut down, restart again, get the drivers from nVidia, install them restart and re-try the games.
Artful Dodger Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 Definatelly will try tomorow after i get some sleep did something similar actually before, even took gpu out and deleted drivers(did not uninstalled all nvidia stuff maybe),also tried use older nvidia drivers but failed well maybe missed some steps, will try, thanks man
guk Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Make sure you never install GeForce Experience (or whatever it's called) with your nvidia drivers. This will mess up settings, and also runs some streaming service in the background which can destroy the performance in some games. Before updating nvidia drivers, uninstall the current version. Then: Custom Installation -> only have the drivers and if necessary PhysX selected
Artful Dodger Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 Ok so followed CPU's steps and it looks like problem is gone(yes!) not sure why i failed many times before, was having this problem quite long. quite puzzled what exactlly fixed it but now i did not installed GeForce experience and some useless drivers which comes with gpu drivers when doing express/full install, which was also confirmed by GUK. Internet cable had to be unpluged, otherwise win7 installed gpu drivers by itself again, even when it's set to never update. But... i managed somehow to destroy my FO4 install.. oh well,i guess it's time to pump some air into bike tires.
