KanesGhost Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Hello folks, I have been away from gaming for a couple of years, but now finally able to play again ? Brand new Computer: MSI GPU GEForce GTX 1070 CPU Intel (R) Core (TM) 17-7700HQ (M)@ 2-80G Hz Memory 16.00 GB RAM (15.89 GB usable) Current resolution 1920x1080, 120Hz Driver version 382.05 Brand new Steam Account, thus brand new game...SkyrimSE After running the vanilla game up until hands unbound in Helgen, I installed NMM and added a very small handful of Mods, making sure they're all SE: Apachii SkyHair The Choice is Yours CBBE Better Males (bodies) Urshi's Face textures for males and a skin texture for males Decided to run the game in on just those (still waiting for Internet, moved house)...so a little slow on the downloads atm. Haven't set Papyrus Script as yet... my bad...but I didn't expect problems ? What happened is, I started the game, straight into the main quest, turned off game just before going into Bleak Falls Barrow...a few hours later, turned the game back on...I did take my character into the Alchemist Shop in Whiterun and tweaked my characters appearance in PlayerRaceMenu and an odd thing happened there, the game set her as a new character and classed the save as '001'...all seemed okay though and so continued my game...I picked up Lydia and headed for the town beneath the throat of the world...as I entered the town, my game crashed to desktop ? I haven't installed LOOT or TESEdit as yet, as I know the order is correct with the few mods I have. Simply for the life of me I can see no reason at all for a CTD ? I don't know much about Computers though and so now am asking, is my Computer strong enough? Or is anything else maybe apparent to anyone that I'm not seeing?
RohZima Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Are those the only mods you have, above? It usually a mod conflict. I would just clean save with the minimum mods, and then test, add a couple mods, test & save, repeat.. Until it crashes again then you will know the last one is the cause. Your PC is easily good enough If your playing Skyrim Special Edition, editing the player character creates a new save instance, probably in case you mess up and regret it.
KanesGhost Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Yes, they are the only Mods I have installed...I have SkyUI, FNIS and Beards downloaded, but not installed...though even if I were to install them, they shouldn't be any problem. If there was a Mod problem with the Mods I have active, shouldn't it have shown up earlier in the game? In regards to the new save instance with SE, are my earlier saves still there somewhere?
