wip Defiler Wings 1.4.1 English translation (not machine)

Since I never encountered this particular folklore, I'll just translate what I found: Sivka-Burka, prophetic Kaurka is a talking horse who gives advises to it's owner, also capable of transmogrifying his appearance and clothes and to fly him to where he wants. It's a multi-colored horse where Sivka - is grey skin, with Burka - brown parts, and Kaurka - reddish mane and / or tail. There is a topic with greater details describing it but I am not sure that is relevant.

Thanks for working on this project.  I played this game a while ago with the machine translation and I'd gladly play it again with a better translation.

 

I'm not sure I've installed the translation correctly.  I downloaded a file named DefilerWings-141-d27fc22elJl1y.zip with size 827527358 and unzipped the contents of the patch overwriting and merging folders.

 

I wiped out all remnants in %appdata%/renpy/defiler-wings and started a new story game.

 

I get the following error when claiming a reward from the mistress.  It seems that the link to the reward claiming description is broken.  I was able to ignore the error and get some unrelated advice text and continue a bit.

It is entirely possible that I broke something, although the lines the error referring to do not contain any text, so I (intentionally) did not change them. I will try to play a bit and see if I get this as well.

 

Update: I started a new game and played until the 1st reward. I did not get any error message.

 

I know that there are slightly different versions. For example the file I'm working on atm (city.rpy) has different amount of lines in the machine translated and the original Russian version. 1320 vs 1314. But even that should not cause problems, because the line numbers have nothing to do with the code.

Thanks for the reply, I guess that we have different base versions somehow or I'm doing something else wrong.  I tried putting your translation over the 1.4.1 English version, which seemed to mostly work, but I got another error at the exact same part.  Maybe the error is related to playing the cutscene, which triggers for me as I'm wiping out all of my saved data from %appdata% with each install.

 

I'll keep an eye on your progress and help spread the word.

I checked my archives, and I have the version you have too (same byte size). I compared the 2 and they are not identical. The diference is small, but that can still cause problem.

 

If you could find and try with my version, it would be awesome. Also, that would mean that I need to indicate this in the translation notes.

From bits of the context that I picked on, it seems like the treasury is full but all of it is mortgaged to someone already. Because of it, the Falsemonarch cannot organize a nearing tournament and requires an immediate loan. There are several choices from who to take money and one of them is a caravan of cvergs that should arrive just before tournament.
