kurama93 Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Hello all, I installed skyrim SSE with some mods but the game crash on startup before logo bethesda. I sorted the mods with loot (who did not detect any problem) and clean with SSEEdit but without success. Any idea please ?? here are the plugins and papyrus.0.log : Papyrus.0.log
fred200 Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Don't even try to run Oldrim mods without converting them. Make sure you have converted versions of all prerequisites. No 32 bit versions of SKSE DLLs. Remove all mods except SKSE. Verify it runs. Add mods back one at a time until it fails. That is your culprit.
kurama93 Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 Hello, thx for your answer I tested by disabling all plugins but without success and what do you mean by Oldrim mod ??

Don't use Skyrim mods on Skyrim SE. You can convert your own if you know what you are doing, or just use Skyrim SE mods. So you are saying Skyrim SE crashes, even with no mods? Try installing it again in a clean directory. Has to be a legal copy, installed from Steam. Don't worry about mods until Skyrim SE works.
kurama93 Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 hello, My problem was from skyrim mods as you said. By downloading them I had not paid attention to skyrim version. I will make a complete installation in a clean directory and reinstall 1 by 1 the mods. Thx you very much for yor help

They put files in the Data folder in places like Meshes and Textures. When you remove a mod - don't just disable the ESP. Remove all those other pieces too. If Skyrim loads a bad NIF from the Texture folder, that can also crash the game. Practice Safe Computing and you will be fine. Have fun!
kurama93 Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 Thank you for the remark I will take it into account for the next mods And thx again for your help
scipher99 Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 SKSE 32bit .dll files will not work in SKSE64. Oldrim= 32bit and SSE= 64bit. All animation files from Oldrim need to be converted to SSE open SSE directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Tools\HavokBehaviorPostProcess and use this program to convert .hkx files for SSE. Search nexus for the batch file to convert multiple .hkx files at once (file below) Run nif optimizer on meshe files to SSE format https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089 . Textures do not need to be converted. For .esp files open Creation Kit and find .esp make sure its checked and file is set to active plugin. Load and save .esp this will change it from form 43 to form 44 (SSE=form 44). NOTE: .bsa files from oldrim will not work in SSE so they need to be unpacked and repacked into SSE .bsa format or better yet leave them loose and repack .zip or .7z convert_HKX.bat
