Nyohohoho Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I've been playing DoA with mods for a pretty long time now and I was thinking that I want to make my own costumes, so I was looking for a complete guide on how to do it (preferably with destructible clothes) but I didn't find anything. Does such a guide exist? If not, how do I learn to make costumes? I was mainly looking for combining existing costumes into one/changing stuff around on existing costumes, not making completely new ones.
Otakadelic Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Welcome to DOA modding! It is deep and fun, easily get addict and maybe no way to return. Are you ready? Sadly enough there is no one place to gathering all necessary information. I imagine it would be very nice if we can start and maintain doa5lrmod.wikia or something like that. The reason why such a handy place is not exist is, the scene is constantly changing, and the person who possess necessary information is highly likely active modder, who are busy to create own, few time/efforts left to share knowledges. I believe this community is friendly (generally) and no intention to hide but simply it is tall task to how to teach. However, I can give you some introductions to start modify. - Collect necessary tools. Collect these tools from links below. LR Photo Studio ABC Transformer 2 TimmyC's Character Transformer Tool (Exists in this forum) TMC Polygon Tool TMC Polygon Inset Tool https://www.mediafire.com/folder/f2d5z16fv0xm2/DOA5LR https://www.mediafire.com/folder/9zi2gt8dyllaj/doa5mod Don't be afraid of these Japanese titles. Generally the most of tools have English options. And you don't have to understand all functions. (I haven't grasp all of them yet.) Those are enough to modify/replace existing mods. If you want to go a step further then try these. TMC Object Tool Texture Tool JPN Custom (Same location as above. Well, it is good idea to download all of them while it open to public.) https://www.mediafire.com/folder/9zi2gt8dyllaj/doa5mod Those are effective and handy when you understand how to use, and I believe powerful enough to modify. If you want to try next step then that would be start to think about Blender. https://www.blender.org/ Very fortunate for us, this giant is free to use. But that doesn't mean easy to use. I asked dozens questions of very basic operations. I know this single reply is not friendly enough, not covering necessary very basic information. Sorry. But keep stick with this forum and don't be afraid of throw questions. Hope you will enjoy this great hobby!
Fennix Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I can add that a lot of information on modding can be found on the site Zetaboards.

You're absolutely true but many tutorials out there are one or more years old and it is crucial to use the most recent version of most of DOA5LR related tools/addons. When I tried these tutorials/information when I started to modding, I simply confused because no such buttons nor exact same item on menu. That's why I didn't refer Zetaboards and I believe get used to with the recent versions are much important, even get struggled at early stage. But yes, they have many and could provide hints/clues, that's for sure.
Nyohohoho Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 Thanks for the replies and information. I'll see what I can do with what you posted and ask if I don't get something. See ya~
