Sim won’t take contraception automatically

My female sim doesn’t take pills automatically. She used to and the one day she just stopped. I have to go into her storage and make her take it every single time. I must say that meanwhile I’d use remove all buffs cheat more than once so maybe that’s the issue. Male sims apply condoms automatically so the issue is only girls and pills. Can something be done about this? My version is up to date and I haven’t noticed any other issues.
