jennyskye Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Hello again! This problem has dogged me for a while, and I've never been able to quite figure it out... OS loads up the first outfit just fine, but when I finish and load up the next one, I get (maybe 50% of the time) an error "OpenGL: Failed to load vertex shader from file: res\shaders\default.vert" which will pop up for each piece of armor in a nif file. Sometimes this error is preceded by "Failed to load skeleton 'res\skeleton_female_sk.nif'!" It only happens in MO, if I run it separately I don't get the problem, but it also behaves weirdly since it doesn't have access to any of the mod files since I think MO doesn't load them unless it's being run through MO. From what I can tell, those files are present in the correct location indicated by the error message. I'm also aware that this is a pretty common problem for people who use MO but I didn't find any really concrete fixes for it. Any help would be appreciated!
Nazzzgul666 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Hmm. My first guess would be that something with your setup is wrong, using MO myself i've never seen this error. Are the mods you're building installed via MO too? The only other idea i have is that you're using MO2, IF you play on Skyrim SE you need MO2 but this version is still buggy. If you're playing legendary (or any other old) version, make sure you have MO v 1.3.xx *edit: as a workaround you can build them outside of MO and then copy the built meshes within the appropiate folder in a mod managed by MO.
jennyskye Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 I am on MO 1.3.11 with regular Skyrim. Is MO2 compatible with it? And it's not any particular object or mesh or anything. I could work on the same file a dozen times with no problem if it's the first one. If I open that same file after having opened a different one first, then I get that error.
Fifoo Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Make sure BodySlide gets loaded in MO after your body/outfit mods, and the overwrite folder in MO is empty before using the tool. Sometimes BodySlide gets upset if you batch build too often in a single session, and you might have to quit and reopen it.
Nazzzgul666 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 MO2 is buggy and unfinished, while MO1 is done and quite free of bugs. There is no reason to use it for legendary version.

I'm pretty careful about clearing my overwrite folder before doing anything batch in BS, but I am struggling to tinker with OS and not have to reopen the whole program after each individual outfit. It seems like it's a way in which OS is interacting with MO's sandbox. Sometimes I'll be browsing folder in the Open File menu, and see items from one mod in a folder, and go back to the same folder later and see files from a different mod there. Maybe I'm going crazy from looking at sliders all day.

Could be due to the fact that MO don't handle the BodySlide.exe file path correctly: try to re-edit the BodySlide.exe file path to BodySlide icon on MO and see if it works back to normal after proceeding this way.
jennyskye Posted March 28, 2018 Author Posted March 28, 2018 Sorry, I don't understand what I should be changing to where. If it's the "Start in" option in MO's Modify Executables menu, it's currently set to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mod Organizer\mods\BodySlide and Outfit Studio\CalienteTools\BodySlide" Is that correct?

I see by your quote that you've intalled Mod Organiser and BodySlide in an UAC-protected system directory, meaning you must have proper admin rights to run them well. Please proceed by following these steps: Spoiler Sorry the screenshot is in French but you can see here all the related steps explained below. I'm in a new playthrough currently and don't have BodySlide nor the complete mods list installed yet. This exemple is based on TES5Edit tool, choose BodySlide tool instead. 1. Open MO: - On the upper right side near "Run", go to the "Selection Bar" and select SKSE launcher. Bodyslide must be de-selected. If you have a BodySlide shortcut icon put on the top right, delete it. - Go to the upper left side and click on the "Gear box" button to modify the list of programs loaded in MO. - Select BodySlide in the pop-up window, untick all options. Click on "Remove" and "Close". - Go to the left pane of MO and deactivate the BodySlide mod in the mods list. - Close MO to refresh the files contained in the virtual folder. 2. Changing MO UAC-properties: - Open Windows Explorer, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mod Organizer. - Right-click on the folder and select "Properties" tab, "Security" tab. - Set it to run in "Admin" mode to have full read/write access privilege -> Click "Ok". - Close Windows Explorer. - Reboot your OS. 4. How to use the BodySlide program with Mod Organizer: - Install or download the archive to Mod Organizer like you would any other mod (skip this step unless you'll have to reinstall BodySlide). - Enable the mod in the Main Left pane of MO and make sure it is loaded after your body mod(s) but before all BodySlide addons. - Right-click BodySlide in MO and choose "Open in explorer". - Inside of the "CalienteTools/BodySlide" folder, locate "BodySlide.exe" and set the "File properties" to always run as administrator. - Go to the virtual "Data" tab to the Main Right pane of MO and navigate to "CalienteTools/BodySlide/BodySlide.exe". - Right-click "BodySlide.exe" -> Add as executable. - Profit.

I finally got back to this problem. The steps above didn't work, and I kind of got frustrated and took a break. I then came back to find MO didn't work correctly anymore because of the EU rules. When I updated to MO2, the problem is completely gone. Not sure why, but that did it!
