Head discoloration in Creation Kit NOT the game

Recommended Posts

Hey guys i recently wanted to add more npc's to my game but for some reason whenever i open them in the preview screen their head are a shade lighter than the body. Not this is NOT because i forgot to do ctrl+f4 or because of the slider issue. It is there even before i edit the npc.

Any ideas what this might cause? I recently installed beyond the reach mod but i don't see how that would cause issues. I uninstalled it anyway though. Also note that nc's not edited in ck, as in just downloaded of the nexus or loverslab or even the vanilla npc's do not have this issue. it is only when i try to create new npc's through my copy of creation kit, all goes to hell.

edit: it even happens on male npc's!

edit: It is NOT the typical dark face bug either. On the contrary the faces are actually lighter than they are suppose to be.

SOLVED! (missing head texture, make sure to reinstall your body and face overhaul mod properly! Especially the ones in character/character assets)

the first thing that comes to mind is maybe you have a stray head texture file somewhere, my next guess would be nonstandard head meshes.

You mean the one in character assets? That would mean everyone in the game should have this issue too. Biut they all look normal. I already reinstalled creation kit and added the neccesary lines of code so that it can read multiple masterfiles again. But still no dice. I even made the whole skyrim folder an exeption to my antivirus, once again no dice.

Everything looks fine in-game, even vanilla but as soon as i open creation kit everyone has a discolored face. It's like opposite day.

Should reinstall everything just because i can't make new npc's?

edit: i just copied everything from cbbe over to character assets (after making a backup ofcourse)

edit: nope, didn't work (dammit!)

EDIT: HUZZAAAH I got it to work! :classic_biggrin: (pfew, my legacy is safe! Did i mention that i'm using this mods setup for 3 years straight?) It was indeed a missing headpart because i reinstalled Demoniac again (my body and face overhaul texture) and it was gone! Btw now i have that weird "striped makeup bug" do you know how to get rid of that too?

Ok, i just put interpolation value of that makeup bit to 0 nd it's gone. Btw can i just remove this thread? I mean the issues have been resolved now.

it would probably be better to keep it around just in case someone runs into the same problem, but i think if you delete your first post it will delete the thread.
