Slowing Down

I'm having an issue all of a sudden where after a few do over in games after death the FPS goes down and things really slow down.  I have a 1060 card and this has never happened before in the past. 

 

I' e been having to restart the game and it's good for a few deaths before each time the game will get slower and slower.

 

I'm sure it can be all sorts of things, but is there any obvious fixes?

 

Maybe something got corrupted and I just need to uninstall and re-install the whole game?  Hate to do that but if it's somethign simple to look for I'd rather try that first
