SnipingSheep92 Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 So, recently upgraded my PC, wanted to try modding FO4. Really conflicted between just playing through the game clean, or just modding it from the start. The game's story isn't gonna be all that new to me since I've seen people play through when it released. Would appreciate any input. o7
AWP3RATOR Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 If you are going to get in to modding, it will be a good idea to get a sense for what the base game has to offer without anyone else's content in it. Many mods are so seamless and frankly better than what is in the vanilla game - that it will be hard to tell if something is vanilla or not. I'd recommend playing through some, if not all of it in vanilla - if it's your first time.
Phelps1247 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I take the opposite stance. Mod the hell out of it. You should already have an idea of what you like/don't like about it since you've watched others play through and should use mods to address those issues.

I assumed this meant "I'm going to start authoring mods" - so my stance was a bit geared toward that. @Phelps1247 has a solid point on playing the game with mods - and yes, absolutely. There are so many good mods that fix/improve/etc. that you'll want and wish you had from when you started.
SnipingSheep92 Posted March 5, 2018 Author Posted March 5, 2018 While I probably could've guessed the answers from the start, thank you for the inputs <3 Probably will end up getting some QoL, graphics mods installed and play the game vanilla at first. Then lewd the crap out of it
