jennyskye Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Hi there! I am having a weird issue and I can't find any solutions to it. When rain falls, it always falls at almost a 45 degree angle. It's always angled northward. I've turned off all rain related mods and none of them seem to do it. Am I just going crazy or didn't it fall straight down once upon a time?
Content Consumer Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 IIRC it's different depending on what type of rain is supposed to be falling. Try these console commands and see if it changes after each one: fw 10a23d fw 10a23c fw 10a238 fw 10a231 fw d4886 fw c8220 fw 2e7ab
jennyskye Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 Ohhh, only the d4886 was coming in sideways. The others all are as perpendicular as can be. It feels like that is the only rain I get in game. Is there a way to fix that one (or is it supposed to be angled as if there were a high wind), and is there a way to see the chances of each happening, to see if there seems to be some issue with the choice? I don't know much about the rain system.
Content Consumer Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 That one is called FXMagicStormRain. No idea why it seems to be the only one you're getting. It's possible that you installed a rain mod that altered vanilla scripts to force that one to happen all the time, I suppose - in that case, as far as I know just disabling the .esp won't fix the problem. I don't know of any way to find the chances of different weathers happening in-game. If my supposition is correct, that a rain mod has altered something permanently, then... If you're using NMM or Mod Organizer or some mod manager, try uninstalling completely instead of just disabling the mod. If you installed them manually, make sure you've deleted their scripts as well as the .esp. Just to check - did you disable your rain mods in the middle of a game? Some things are permanently baked into your save file and just disabling or uninstalling the mod won't necessarily fix a problem like that. Disabling mods mid-game is usually a bad idea, and can cause anything from a minor annoyance to eventual complete save failure. It's always best to start a brand new game when disabling mods or altering your load order.
jennyskye Posted March 4, 2018 Author Posted March 4, 2018 I disabled all mods and started a fresh game and it's still coming in sideways. I don't think I've disabled any mods mid-game. I use Mod Organizer and my computer does not like me alt+tabbing in this game, but there is that possibility! If even disabling everything doesn't cure it, then I must have broken something deep in the game, probably better if I just deal with it rather than spend too much time stressing over it, since it's pretty minor? Thank you for the insight on the issue though! And teaching me about the fw command.
