LinkxRuto Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Hi, I decided I wanted to pick up Skyrim again and give it a go with mods rather than vanilla, but I have no experience with using mods, so I'm pretty much just asking for someone to give me a list of mods to get started with. First off which is better for me to get (modding wise), Legendary Edition or Special Edition? The main things I'm looking for with the mods are some to make the characters look better, preferably with more customisation to body type and face for the player character and to make the game as a whole look better. Nudity and sex mods are wanted (obviously ), I kinda want to try out some bestiality and player rape mods and anything else you guys/girls enjoy. Thanks in advance. And sorry if there is a thread like this already, I looked but couldn't find one, which is surprising given that to a new modder the amount of content here is overwhelming.
MadMansGun Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Legendary Edition, stuff is now coming out for Special Edition but Legendary Edition still has more mods available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iukqiPz7XuU https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71214 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725 https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/3524-sexlab-more-nasty-critters-install-guide/
Relnor Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Honestly, assuming you want to play the actual game and not turn it into a studio for taking screenshots (which is what I and many others do), I would forego especially the sex mods until you have a stable foundation, particularly if you're new to modding. Maybe follow the STEP Guide, get the world looking the way you want, texture packs, water mods, lighting perhaps being especially important to how your world and characters look. Learn about ENBs, most of the really good screenshots you see out there use an ENB and the game doesn't look quite as striking without one, there are a lot of them and it's mostly personal preference, although for me, it has to be Snapdragon ENB since I screenshot characters pretty often, and it's effect on characters is pretty dramatic. Then look into the characters themselves, you know your preferences best, and there's some body type and look out there for anyone. If, after you get all the pretty eyes, skin, hair, bodies etc, you're still bad at making a character yourself (like me) - worry not! - you can import follower's heads with Racemenu and turn them into player characters, assuming you have all the mods they used, of course. I did it with rxkx22's Toccata for instance, since I liked the character. (PS: Results can vary.. I've had trouble with some followers, but generally it works) Then decide on any game play mods you want - Combat mods, profession mods, survival mechanics, whatever. Once you figured all that out.. play for awhile, troubleshoot any problems, work under the assumption that you probably won't be keeping your first save for long, it's less frustrating that way. Then when you feel like you're relatively crash free and stable, only then you should, imo, look into SexLab & it's dependencies. The reason is a lot of this stuff is pretty script heavy and complicated, so if your foundation isn't good, you're going to have a bad time. if you know what you're doing you can make it all work perfectly fine, but if you're new and you throw 150 "normal" mods at the game then put SexLab, DD, Defeat mods, Poses, Slaverun and gods knows what else on top, it will just be frustrating and you'll probably end up starting over anyway.
