grifterrik Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Hello, What I'd like to accomplish is adjust the color for the shaved/stubble part of a hairstyle, like in unladylike or anchorage, so that it doesn't change with the hair color. I believe this is possible based on mods like this one . From looking at what that modder has done, I think I might need to make a change in the material file, like HairShaved_LGrad_8bit.BGSM, but I'm pretty much in over my head at this point. I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction from here. Thanks!
AWP3RATOR Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Looks like the mod author changed the material file to point to new textures. The textures themselves are changed only for a few specific colors - making the pink the color selection in game. It's kind of cheating, but I like it! They used a darker color here, but made the "top hair" the pink color and left the "bottom hair" alone. The anchorage hair has 2 parts: HairlineFemale35_Hairline1 --> FemaleHair35_Hairline1.nif (top section) --> HairShort_LGrad_8bit.bgsm (pointed to new texture file which is pink) HairlineFemale35_Hairline2 --> FemaleHair35_HairLine2.nif (shaved section) --> HairShaved_LGrad_8bit.bgsm (left as vanilla color still dark) They did this in both the 1bit and 8bit files. I'm frankly unsure which are used where - but changing both seems to be the way to go.
grifterrik Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 Wow, super helpful! Thank you. I can't believe i missed that grad/graz difference. I must have gone through those two files side by side at least a dozen times. Also, that was totally the information I needed:
AWP3RATOR Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Looks awesome! Now that I know how to do it too, I will be doing it for my game. I love finding stuff like this
