monsta88 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Hi all, I have a strange issue, I hope someone can give me advice. I bought a new SSD. I moved my Mod Organizer/mods directory on the SSD, and also my Steam/.../Skyrim installation. The game starts up and works without problem. When I switch zone (loading screen), the autosave (seemingly) happens like always, no hiccups. However when I manually quicksave, it now takes about 10 seconds, instead of 1-2 (my current savegame is about 25 MB altogether, it is a big 230+ mod game about a hundred hours in it). During this save the game just stops and I see the HDD led working. Any idea what could cause this? Thanks, M
Lodakai Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Could be many things... of a few (but not limited to) - If you are using mod organizer, make sure your profiles are saving also to your SSD if you wish to use the SSD to save with. - Make sure you are not overly bloating your save file with broken mods. - Make sure you did not remove mods midgame, if you did.. use a save game script cleaner. - Try to use regular saves rather than quicksaves more often.

Thanks for the answer. 1) I don't know how to move profies to SSD, there is no option for it in MO. I would probably need to reinstall it on the new drive. Still, on the old HDD it took only 1-2 seconds to save. 2-3) My savegame is so big that the Savegame tool crashes when I try to load a save. I use Fallrimtools, it works, and my savegame is clean. 4) The good thing is, the problem disappeared now, it takes 1 second only to save. So I guess it was some hiccup, I hope it won't come back. Thanks, M
Lodakai Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Glad you fixed it! Hope it stays fixed. For the MO paths... if you use MO2 it should be in settings tab under paths. If you use MO, you need to move MO to your SDD I believe.. then under settings tab under general and enable the advanced mode to change where you locate your downloads (and if you want your mods and your cache files on your HDD you can do that as well)
