Creation kit crashes when adding custom hair

Hey, all. Hoping for some creation kit (and probably nifskope) help. I've ported a custom hair to the skyrim .nif format and am trying to add it to the game via the creation kit.

Steps taken:

1)load creation kit and skyrim.esm

2)make duplicate of hairfemalenord01 and associated HL headparts

3)open duplicate and attempt to replace original .nif with mine

4)CK crashes. (I've repeated this error enough times that I'm reasonably certain it's an issue with the .nif)

 

Can anyone else give this a go and see if they can get it to work? I'm pretty sure it's something people would be interested in having. Thanks for your time.

There is most likely a problem with the .nif file itself.
