Food & Drink Vendor issue and VIP Tracker issue

I know these are a long shot, however doing a google search shows others are having similar issues, but have gotten no answers.

 

VIP tracker used to work just fine, then after Steam decided to update FO4 despite me launching via F4SE...after I updated the required mods, the VIP tracker no longer works.  If I click on "Show XXX" nothing happens - I go back into the menu and is says "Show XXX", not Hide.  I tried removing the updated mods but to no effect.

 

And, my game has intermittant issues with just the "Food and Drink" vendors.  Sometimes the sub menu is missing entirely, preventing me from building them.  Other times it shows up but all the stalls are greyed out and cannot be built despite me having their requirements.  Other times it lets me build them, but I cannot buy or sell from the settler assigned to that stall.  All other vendor types work just fine.  I got tons and tons of settlement mods, so isolating one would be really tough, so this is a stab in the dark, I know.

Do you mean the VIP Tracker that can be gotten through completing the Vault 88 DLC content?  It initiates a quest called Overseer's Most Wanted.  To be honest, I completely forgot about that thing - I'll give it a go tonight and see how I make out with it.

 

As for the Food and Drink vendor menus - I haven't experienced this personally in awhile, but I'm running mods that inject in the menus vs the older replacement or new menu methods.  When you say tons and tons - how many affecting the Stores menu are there?  You could try loading it all up in to FO4Edit and navigating through the trees to find the records affected, and see which mods are doing what?  But if it's scripted - that won't tell you much.

I did some checking in my game - I'm fairly well on.  Completed the main story line, Vault 88, Nuka World, Robot DLC, and skipped Far Harbor.  The Overseer's Most Wanted quest doesn't want to work with any vanilla companions, but it does work with Ada and Gage.  I don't know about Longfellow, as I haven't met him in this game.

 

I did some digging in the script that runs for this quest, and see that it requires the npc be in the "HasBeenCompanionFaction" - This enables/disables the npc on the console itself (like a show/hide).  I tested this with strong next me.  Dismissed him to Vault 88, removed him from the faction - his name was hidden on the terminal.  Adding him back to the faction made his name reappear, but did not start the quest to find him.

 

Ran a couple of tests with various configurations on the same saved game (not conclusive):

Game Ver: Current 1.10.50

F4SE Ver: Current 0.6.4

 

1. Disabled all mods, F4SE installed - quest doesn't work on vanilla companions

2. Disabled all mods, and F4SE - quest doesn't work on vanilla companions

 

It could be that my save has whatever issue is causing this baked in already - so this test was going to be fruitless anyway, but I can't be sure.  Too much time sink in going back to the beginning for this (for me anyway).
