Creating my own LoversPK mods?

Very curious, and have time on my hands now.

So, lets say I want to make .ESP files like LoversPayBandit and LoversDarkLessons, in which the PC is totally at the mercy of his/her opponent(s)...where would I start?

Where/What exactly do I need to strat creating my own LoversPK mods??? I want to contribute, as well as "knowing how things tick and tock" with Oblivion/LoversPK mods...so LL crew, where should I begin?

Thx in advance, your anxious noob BurningChapel!!! :D

Oh yeah, my Google-Fu is crap, btw. :s

Well, in my opinion the best place to start is making your own quest mod. Get a bit of experience with making your own dialog lines, making them show up for the npc you want them to - and only for him - when you want them to etc.

Also, you'll need a mic. The CS crashes without a mic plugged in and you try to add dialog. Don't ask me why.

After you got that down, you can take your mod just about wherever you want to.

Probably the best place to start would be to open up the two esp files for the plugins you just listed and see how they were made' date=' what scripts were used and so forth.

Hm, what program opens up .ESP files?

EDIT:

Adobe PDF reader, right? LOL.

Hmm...Adobe doesn't seem to want to open any .ESP files???

I just downloaded Adobe Reader X and it gave me an error window pretty much telling me the .ESP file is not recognized by Adobe Reader X.

I only am using the two .ESP files I mentioned here, PayBandit and LoversDL with Adobe Reader X, and its a no go here. Any ideas? :P

Sorry Chapel I thought you were just poking fun. :(

I did not realize you were actually being serious.

No, you need to use the CS (Construction Set) to make\modify esp files. You can get it from the Oblivion Official CS Page here: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/The_Elder_Scrolls_Construction_Set

To learn how to use the Construction Set start here: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Main_Page

You don't have to have a mic. Just have to have something in the mic port. Headphones work fine for me.

Best way to learn modding, IMHO, is tweak mods you already have. Don't like a line of dialogue or the way an NPC looks? Open up the CS and set the mod you want to change as the "active" file. Also look at nexus's modder resources section, find some clothes that interest you and add 'em in. When you're done with your changes, google mod cleaning and learn how to clean mistakes and accidental edits with TESEdit.
