nonusnomeni Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 GOOgle chrome by some unknown reason was override my mozilla destroy all my bookmarks, all my passwords HOW??? WHY??? how to restore??? HELP!!! please???
thesapien Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Huh? That certainly is a WTF moment! At first I was thinking maybe you accidentally imported your Firefox bookmarks and stuff to your Chrome browser, but passwords are gone too??? That sounds like something else. You might want to do a security scan or jump on another computer and quickly change all of your important passwords just in case. Other than that, I'm baffled too. Here's a stupid question, but you know, like asking to make sure someone has tried hitting the power button first when something isn't working... Are you sure you didn't just switch default browsers and are now using Firefox instead of your usual Chrome and maybe all you need to do is switch back to using Chrome as your default browser?
nonusnomeni Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 @thesapien you know then i know something, and one is official; do not use goggle chrome on my job google chrome is verboten also it is (how to say;very hollow, you cannot make god sec. program to disallow unwanted look in(there)) nothing pc go in HQ and all bokies go again to search (advice of some who know something)
GrimReaperCalls Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 As thesapien said, first of all make sure to change all your passwords on another computer with antivirus, worst case scenario you've gotten a virus made by someone who dislikes Google (O.o). Have you been using any extensions for chrome, such as Xmarks Bookmark Sync, etc? Make sure those extensions are still enabled, chrome might have gotten an update and that specific extension might not be compatible any longer. Have you used your Google account to sign into chrome to synchronize your bookmarks across several computers/devices? If so, make sure you haven't accidentally disabled bookmark synchronization in the chrome settings. Also, might be obvious, have you by any chance done a System Restore recently? If you're referring to the German word "verboten", the English word for that is "Forbidden" or "Prohibited". Edit: I'm using Chrome and I haven't had any problems. One user experiencing what looks like an error doesn't mean we should all uninstall it.
