Guest Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 We had a problem with our net provider during the summer and the winter few times. We have cable network. Now, when my Prince asked him what is going on that we have to call them every season to check on our internet connection (it slows down and breaks), the technician said that during the summer they have to increase the signal for the cable wires gets too hot, and during the winter they have to reduce the speed for the cold increases the signal. I really want to know is it true since his statement sounds like a fairly tale.
Shadowhawk827 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 It's true, at least to a degree. Heat impedes electrical signals and it can damage your electronics. That's why PCs have so many fans, and they tell you not to leave your phone in the car on a hot day. Cold on the other hand, makes it easier for electricity to flow. You can google the term superconductivity to learn more if you want. :) I'm not enough of a scientist to explain the physics and thermodynamics in much detail but it is true.

I just wanted to know how much truth is in his words. :)
