I'm obtuse and can't get the mod working

After reading all of the guide threads, I still can't figure out how to properly set up this mod. It's not that they're unclear, I am just bad at modding and can't get it to work.

 

At first, I did this: I added a nudity mod called BAB to my steam version of the game (with all DLC) and the mod manager. Both of these worked fine upon testing. Then, I added OBSE 20, using the method required for a steam install. Then, I installed Lovers_with_PK_Base_Package_rev9, Lovers Resources, LoversRaperS, and LoversAdultPlayPlusforS

SP, and Joburg. I used mod manager to activate all of these. The game launched and when I played it, the mod appeared to be working correctly.

 

Later, however, strange errors developed. The rape spell, which used to work, now always returns a "ZME is not ready for sex" message. This is for one of the same characters that used to have no problem with it. Joburg continues to work as I would expect.

 

I'm guessing the problem stems from my mixing and matching of modifications. But turning different components on and off hasn't helped. Neither has following the instructions in the longer guide and installing the unofficial patches and the universal skeleton part. Is the problem that I'm not following all the "beautification" stuff to the letter? Is that required to get the mod working?

 

Should I just make a clean attempt of it, like this?

 

1. Start with Oblivion with latest patches.

2. Install the unofficial patches.

3. Install OBSE

4. Install the Rev91 and the resource pack for Lovers

5. Add a couple minimods

6. Add a nudity mod

 

Will this work possibly?

 

From what I've seen - awesome mod, by the way! I've really enjoyed it, despite my install woes. Makes the Oblivion experience much better.

That sounds like a load order issue. Can you try posting that per the instructions here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=6133 ? This post will probably move to that section before long, but it sounds like your load order has issues, offhand.

You should be installing all skeletons, nude body mods, and any race\texture mods PRIOR to installing Lovers with PK. Lovers with PK should be the last thing you install. After installing lovers you need to pay close attention to your load order! A bad load order and lovers will stop working.

Thanks for the advice! After working on the load order and much trial and error, I have most of it working pretty well! Not everything, but I'm more than happy with it. Awesome mod.
