Myst42 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Please help meee!! I was trying to rip models from a game (Alien vs Predator 2010) for use in Oblivion so here's the thing: I managed to get the compressed models and textures from the game to .obj (models) and .tga (textures) Then with photoshop changed the tga's to dds format and made normal maps for them Imported the .obj models with blender, tweaked them, adjusted the uv maps to fit the textures (they were upside down) and modeled them to fit the oblivion skeleton. also used dome other existing meshes which i imported in .nif format to use the boneweight copy function Went to materials panel, and i thought i did everything by the book to add the real texture to the meshes (creating material and all) BUT... PROBLEM: When i export the final result in .nif format, everithing goes to hell, the resulting file has repeating meshes (which are not cloned in the blender file, its like the mesh clones itself into 3 or more useless parts) and most important: no texturing or material property!! Ive recently been able to create meshes from zero and just treating them the same way everything works perfectly in game but that, i did from an empty new file, this one started with an imported.obj so i guess somewhere in that is where the problem lies So its absolutely impossible to apply the texture to the meshes please help!!! what can i do?, i think i can upload some files if that's what it takes to find out, i just want to see them working... i have .obj, .blend, .nif(useless), .tga, and .dds, just help me please... thanks link here comes the .blend, .dds and the messed up nif file
Myst42 Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Solved: Nevermind; found the solution related to most meshes having 3 or more materials, erased them all and created a new material fith the right texture from zero... i guess i missed that fact, newby mistake i could say but now everything is running, and if the planets align correctly, i may have some rips soon, i'll try to share when they're ready...
