I am running Crash Fixes and I increased my Win10 paging/virtual ram by doubling it. And i guess important in case it does, is your Skyrim installed on SSD or HDD? *edit: it's been a while since i've started Skyrim last time and that was a test setup, not at all made for stability or a long game in mind... i'd rather not copy it to prevent problems. ;)

I certainly helped with Win7. Guess I'm still using it out of habit. I have noticed a bit of lag when there's a big read/write to the HDD. I changed the virtual paging to a minimum of 16Mb and a maximum of 5120Mb. I'm thinking I should set that to 4096, or half of my RAM. No particular reason for that amount, but I haven't had a CTD since I made the changes in the first place. In fact, its going on two full days without a CTD. And I've been putting in 8+ hours a day, lately

And I've been putting in 8+ hours a day, lately Should have been clearer, i was only asking for the virtual paging, that crash fixes makes a (big) change on win10 is something i already know. ;) Although possibly the biggest change regarding (my) CTDs might be that i've activated an experimental - and by default disabled - feature to split memory blocks in several parts. That i activated it in the first place was because of my suspicion that my memory might have some bad sectors and this would help to avoid them, or handling of several small blocks might be better than one big. I'm not sure if any of this is actually true, but for whatever reason, it reduced my crashes and i didn't find any downsides, so i never changed that setting back. I mention my thoughts because if it is true, it's just as likely that it doesn't do anything for anybody else. ;)
Sarge Misfit Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I can't remember why I started doing so, but I always go and change the virtual paging size. It seems to clear up a lot of minor issues related to memory use. Stuttering, lag, freezing and so on. I've never really worked out any rule of thumb until now, either. It seems to met hat the best setting is to set the minimum size to the lowest recommended by the machine, 16Mb in my case, and to set the max to half of your RAM. I'm currently trying more than that, 5120Mb, but now I get long read/writes to the harddrive.
