johnny2by4 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 using merge plugin standalone to try to merge some followers, got a warning that there were NAVI that needed to be fixed. wondering if anyone has experience with this. guide says its as easy as loading the plugin in CK and saving, i have no experience with CK so i was hoping someone could point me to a simple video? oh, and one more question, though more involved i think. tesnexus page suggests that a smash patch (mator smash) could handle this issue without CK. anyone know if that's true?
Lodakai Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Personally, I think it is best to avoid merging followers.. some include custom scripts and such that could cause issues if merged. Typically you want to merge stuff like armor, clothing, weapons, stuff like that. You only really bring at most 5 followers around with you before they start getting in your way even. Not to dissuade you from your method, but consider an alternative... if you like the way an NPC looks, only keep the most advanced followers (ones with voices and special quests) in your load order. Then, on the others, if you like their visuals... use NPC visual transfer and just overwrite some of the vanilla followers.. or get a prepackaged multifollower set and replace some of those npc visuals instead. You can do this very easily with npc visual transfer... https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64875/? Although it is a good thing you are doing maybe... to learn the CK and such. I think this method may be more solid and a little bit easier in the long run.
Uncle64 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 You should use Tes5edit for merging plugins and as Lodakai says, you should not merge follower mods, since they are often complex.
