Content Pack Idea - "I'm With The Band"

Hey y'all,

 

After lurking for a while I finally decided to post, so go easy on me. Here's one of my vanilla ideas for new S4 custom content.

 

Creating your own bands with an "I'm With The Band" content pack. Sure, there's the Musician career option, and a Music Lover trait, and you can sing, DJ, and play a few instruments in the game already, but it's only a solo career/hobby. There should really be a way to create or join a band. It could probably run off of a modded Clubs style interface.

 

Some ideas for the content:

 

-Create and Name a band with up to 5 members

-Choose from several styles of musical act: Boy Band, Rock Band, Metal Band, Punk Band, Pop Singer, Singer-Songwriter, Folk Band, Country Band, Reggae Band, Pop Idol, Hip-Hop Collective, Rapper, Diva, EDM DJ

-Members must have achieved a certain level of prowess with their instruments of choice (How do you get to Carnegie Hall?)

-Addition of several new instruments including: Drum kits, Basses, and Electric Keyboards

-Book and play gigs at the various clubs and venues around the Simworld

-Achieve goals and perks such as "Celebrity" "Fame" "Hit Song" "Platinum Record" etc.

-Have sims with the "Music Lover" trait that aren't in bands become "Mega-Fans" or "Groupies" of yours

-Addition of new songs/music styles (perhaps a way to load your own existing music) - Wouldn't it be fun to create _Insert Artist Name_ and then have them play their own real material?

-Addition of choreography for Boy/Girl bands

-Addition of new traits like "Prima-Donna" "Aloof" "Fan-Lover" "Sex Icon" "No Interviews" "No-Talent" "Reclusive" "Stage Fright" "Rock/Rap God"

-Addition of a new lot trait - "Concert Venue"

-Addition of new Build Mode items including stage pieces, and green room designs

-Addition of Décor items: Posters for your Band (This could be achieved by being able to choose from a collection of preexisting in-game logos for each band, and then pre-made posters with those logos), platinum records, music awards, wacky things for your band to "include in their rider" like a bowl of m&m's with all the brown ones picked out, or extra fancy mineral water, etc.

-Addition of Social Events like the festivals or when a party is happening in town and a friend calls to invite you, but instead one of the bands is playing a concert.  

-A "Band Manager" career branch added to the Business career

-A way to make a music video

-An "On Tour" option that has your band play several shows in a row in different worlds, where, like a social event, you have mini-tasks to complete

 

Let me know if any of you want to collaborate on this with me. I'm sure it would take a lot of time and of course could be simplified. While I'm not a programmer,  I will write the content/story progressions for it.
