Forum: How can I set email notification for subscribed threads?

Didnt know where to put this question best....

 

The problem is:

 

I can subscribe to topics, but I cannot check the box for email notifications for subsribed topics. Its greyed out...

Other boxes are not greyed out and can be checked.

 

What am I doing wrong?!
