Does language matter for Virus software

I have a strange question, i work in S.Korea, my OS is in Korean, but almost all the websites, software and games i play are in english. I have always wondered about anti virus programs, if the country they are made makes any difference at all, or do they all detect the same viruses? I have switched back and forth from some leading korean programs(like alyak,V3) to more foreign based ones like norton, avast, security essentials type stuff.

I guess what I am asking is does the language/country of the software or websites make any difference in what viruses you get or what viruses are detected by the program??
