Getting into FO3/NV

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask, but I thought since it's general discussion it would be best...

 

I played both games on the 360 but would like to get into the PC versions of these games for the mods. But I have a few questions I would love to get youse guys opinions from.

 

In terms of mod content, which is the better game, do you think? Since NV is newer, are there better/more interesting mods? Or maybe it would be that way for FO3 since it's been out longer?

 

Should I get the GOTY versions? I bought the GOTY version of Oblivion and in my 100+ hour save file, I've only beaten the opening escape-from-the-sewer mission. I've spent the whole time playing with mods and exploiting the game when needed with stuff like NOAH and other commands. I basically bought the whole collection for mod compatibility. Since I've beaten FO3 & NV, it would be a repeat. It would suck if there's an amazing mod but I can't play it due to not having Zeta or something.

 

Thanks for your input! I remember feeling so overwhelmed with Oblivion. So many amazing things to download, but first having to get OBSE, understand Mod Manager,etc. Now I'm ready to jump in again with a new setting

Fallout 3 you want game of the year.

New Vegas you want Ultimate Edition.

 

Fallout 3 has endless play.

New Vegas finishes after last mission and no endless play.

 

They both have good mods but NV has loads more mods then Fallout 3. Including a better load of sex mods.

NV is the better game in many aspects. I personally love both games, but NV is the better one. Gameplay, mechanics, what little story there is...all better in the mojave. And because of that a lot more work has gone into NV for superior mods as well.
