Guest GingerTom Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Stop dieing and reloading! Great mod! I've been waiting for this for many, many years. (Been testing it out for hours and found nothing wrong with it.) A useful and actually 'fun' mod at the same time--certainly changes and challenges your game. "Upon \'dying\', all the items you carry will be left behind in your \'corpse\', and your \'soul\' will be carried to a \'metaphysical hall\', where you will find nothing but a portal and ominous statues of the Nine Divines, looking at you. Before abandoning the hall through the portal and reforming your body back in Mundus, you have to choose which Divine\'s Penance you will carry from there on, by activating the corresponding altar at the base of the statue." http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/42599 WARNING: For those that don't read 'readme's': You CANNOT have any form of magic that constantly add 1 or 2 points to your health to top it up--this mod won't work and it will break your game. I'm going to quote moxica because they did such a good job--while giving away a little to much, but... It works great!I'm running OOO and Duke Patricks awesome mods. Needless to say, my game is difficult!! Getting one shotted at lower levels is very likely. So here's what happened and how it cured my one concern- I was trekking in Elswyre and got "knocked out" by a tiger or some kind of cat. I awoke in the temple(?) and picked a random altar. I ended up on the exact opposite side side of the map. I hadn't discovered anything in that area. I had a long walk. I started my walk, got to Bravil and then got one shotted by a random goblin with a crossbow. I rezzed again picked another random altar and ended up a little closer, but near some enemies. I had to walk along way in order to fast travel. I ended up being chased by a fem orc and she was quite angry, for some reason. I ran into a 3 level ruin and started jump over gaps, hoping that she would fall into one. She did, but so did I and we both died. This is highly unusual but I rezzed again, picked another random altar and ended up not too far away. My concern was; am I going to have to back track every corpse until I get my gear back? Nope! Went to the last death found a pile of bones with my name on it, clicked it and got everything back. I love this mod, to death!!! Excellent job!! The penalties may seem steep, but the moral of the story is don't die or get knocked out. It's still gonna cost you. Endorsed hard!!
Guest GingerTom Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Looks interesting. There's a few surprises so I don't want to give them away but it makes the game more real (imagine, not dieing makes it more real but reloading is not 'real' to me) and definitely more of a challenge.
Guest Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Looks like an interesting alternative to the death/reload system. Thanks for the link!
Guest GingerTom Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Looks like an interesting alternative to the death/reload system. Thanks for the link! I've tried all those other 'death' mods and was never happy with any of them--this one I've been playing with for twelve hours now and 4 deaths (trying it out ) I like it.
