Soulslayerzx Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 So just in case anyone is getting that retarded error where Gaarun or whatever his name is says "Mortals aren't allowed to free roam on the castle", please speak to Lord Harkon about it. This was stupid to include, since it prevents you from progressing anywhere, why'd they even make voices for it. If you transform into a vampire lord, he's like im used to it, once you de-transform he starts bitching at you.  So, maybe because I was using a custom race, but all you have to do is make yourself into a vampire race.  I opened up the console and typed  player.setrace nordracevampire  Ta-duh. Instantly, I could tell him it's time and then you get to progress on. Just a small thing in case anyone is using custom races and they wanted to get past this part. And once you're done talking to him just open the console and type that except replace "nordracevampire" with what your race was, note some custom races for example, you might have to do:  player.setrace Batman  player.setrace Batmanrace  player.setrace racebatman  You just need to know the raw name of the race, but yea.
Soulslayerzx Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Dang, didn't see that other dude's thread. Lol.
GodSmack Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21631/ allows you to talk to people while in VL form
Soulslayerzx Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Thanks, now I don't have to open up the console every single time I need to talk to him.
Soulslayerzx Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Also another one, if everyone at Dawnguard starts attacking you, you cannot start the dlc. You need to pay off your bounty at the Rift, that's what I did.
polluxval Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 yes the trasnformation to VL works to talk to the vamps and continue quest, but be careful to transform urself near them, they become hostile.
