[Help] Animated Tentacle Weapon Bugs

So, I'm trying to make an animated tentacle whip weapon for Skyrim, copy-pasting some Apocrypha tentacles onto a sword model.'

 

The model animates perfectly in Nifskope, showing the tentacles lashing around as expted, as shown here:

 

 

 

The problem is, in game, the tentacles start by not showing at all, and then only shoot out an inch or two from the hilt, before vanishing.

 

Can someone take a look at the model and help?
