How do you remove an NPC's clothes?

Before installing UCO, I was using the openactorcontainer console command and then adding clothes and an armor piece incompatible with the clothing into their inventory. That way, after equipping the clothes and the armor, the character will be left naked with only the armor and I can then remove both to leave them naked. But with UCO allowing anything to be worn with armor, I can no longer do this.

Is there another method I can use to make both companions and regular NPCs naked? I have tried with console commands like unequipall but the changes don't stick.

Edit: Figured out that after using the unequipall and "openactorcontainer 1" commands on a NPC, then equipping and removing an armor will keep the NPC naked even after reloading. Just unequipall and "openactorcontainer 1", then removing the NPC clothes doesn't work. Don't know why equpping and unequipping an armor piece causes the change to persist but it does.

I am on Survival, no console, but what works for me is a nude gun.  I then ask to trade gear take it all and give them glasses or a hat or the like.  Equip it on them and they stay nude.

I have done this with many settlers(rr balistic weave mining helmet, nude)

since you can use console the unequipall then operactorcontainer 1  should do the same with any npc.

hopefully it works for you as well.

Hopefully you have checked this issue by looking at Load Order and having checked it with FO4Edit.  I know this issues has happened with me before in other games for having to many saves in the default save folder.  I had two tricks:  First, I just moved the extra saves, requiring the mods always available, to a new place on a different drive.  This helped with the lag and system drain.  Second, paused by hitting the Esc key and let the graphics card rest for a moment.

Of course Windows 10 is almost always the one to blame.
