Balsarius Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 So, I put a "Hired Thug" (who came to teach me a lesson) in a sack after I tied her up and disrobed her because she was very hot. I took her to my little love shack on the hill behind Riverwood, and went into the cell to release her, but she is gone when I hit release and there is no point to it all. I mean, I went through the transporting process from location A to location B for nothing. She is gone and wont be coming back, I guess? Two reasons that really sucks. 1. I have never seen a HOT Redguard female "Hired Thug" and I have killed tons of them. 2. She was perfect in dimensions and the CBBE mod I use allows for many body sizes in NPC's, so she was unique. I have the game saved in my cellar cell in the Slaver's Cabin with the bag on my back, but I'm like what's the point? The dream girl just vanishes. I waited on it to load like forever, I ran the clean up for "tied up" individuals too, as I figured I made a novice user mistake in her capture and bagging. Can anyone clarify what's going on? Thanks in advance.
nvvm Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 It's possible you have a hdt bug ? Just a guess but it's happen to me too and I kept reloading and trying to release her but what help me was I had the save of our encounter before her defeat. I reloaded it to the older save and got her prid from console then loaded my current save, after that opened up console disabled and re-enabled then she popped up. To do this you simply get the npc in front of you press the key left of the number 1 on your keyboard. The key should have these two symbols ~ and this one ` under it. That opens the console. Click the hired thug and you get a bunch of info but on the right side you should see hired thug Type NPC(NPC_) ID: 01234567 baseID: 01234568 You want the ID number you see in your game. Write it down just in case but if you load your current game without quiting it should still be there when you open the console. Simple type disable enable And she should appear when you dismiss console (same button you use to open it.) Otherwise type prid and the eight numbers which should look like: prid 01234567 then disable/enable like above. I probably went into too much detail but when I was new to modding/skyrim shorthand answers just served to confuse me more so it's really for the new players. Anyway I hope it works for you it has for me in the past. Edit: You can also release her then open console and click where she should appear then slowly scroll your mouse wheel to see if she's loaded in the cell. If she shows in console then you can get her back my fear is that the game will change her at some point, I've had it happen to me with npcs that aren't uniquely named.
davisev5225 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Sounds like whatever mod spawned this "Hired Thug" tracks its NPCs, and when they are no longer spawned in the world, cleans them up.
nvvm Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Sounds like whatever mod spawned this "Hired Thug" tracks its NPCs, and when they are no longer spawned in the world, cleans them up. If that happened then he won't be able to recover it unless he has her loaded in a save. It's best to add them as a follower with a follower mod like eff or something but even then they can be erased and replaced randomly.
Balsarius Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 Informative, the both of you. My short reply is that, no, I don't have her saved before the sacking. I have a bunch of saved characters (about 6) and I tend to delete to one or two saves max as fallback points in case of narf ups. I've learned the console fairly well since December, and to get these mods active I've had to advance my knowledge over the span of 6 years in just a few months time (as a novice beginner). I think you are right, davisev5225, as I have made followers with my AFT mod only to have them vanish. Aside from it making them all essential I love it's features. But the tracking tip clues me in a bit. I would try nvvm's fix but I haven't got the reference point to get her personal code ID. I guess I'll just have to tell the tale about the one got away. My Defeat mod is working like a charm and I got it looking right cosmetically so I'm not going to mess with too much with my limited scope of understanding. Thank you both for a timely reply and the tip's that can be applied for future reference for me and the community. PS: Is there a mod that lets you apeman a chick/sling her over your shoulder like a 1950's B movie? That would be cooler and better. Maybe using the same code instances that players use to ride horses? It would be like converting the PC to a horse during transport. Not sure that works or add's up. I modded before in script-lines way back in the day on some games but I was 15 and seemingly way more intelligent! lol But it seems like that could be done if it doesn't exist. Cheer's!
Volkihar Castle Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 This vanishing has always been happening to me as well, as a vampire I wanted to use the sack and bring some enemies to my vampire castles and crypts to enthrall them however each time during countless playing of Skyrim I witnessed the vanishing issue
