Cannot switch between genders in looksmenu?

I have male and female character presets but it will only let me use male because I started my game as a male character.

 

When I try to click the option to change my character's sex, it won't work.

 

Also, when I try selecting a female preset in saved presets, it won't work.

in command screen, just type "sexchange" (without the ") and then your good to go, in the showlooksmenu it can sometimes bug out, so you may be better going to Diamond city and go to the guy you pay 100 caps to change your appearance and use the hairdresser for the hair.

You just have to type this into console: "player.sexchange" (without quotation marks)

 

After that you enter SLM 14 and can load any female presets as usual.

 

Not sure what exactly can bug out in the game, i guess it will show your original wife/husband from game start dead in Vault 111 and some NPC dialogues might not reflect the change either. Perhaps the video above has more info, i definitely do not recommend this in a stable playthrough.
