glitchy textures won't change even after manual replacement

I'm getting very weird glitchy textures, so i replaced them, but the problem is they wont change....? Anyone know what the problem may be? the face texture has a bad face problem where the face text is seeming to miss either the specular/normal map because the lighting is almost non existent on the face. only the diffuse is showing up properly. But i installed all those textures. I did this on a standalone follower just to test things out and it's suffering from this problem as well.
