Spriggan CTD

I am having CTD any time a spriggan moves near me.  This is 100% replicable any time there is a moving/attacking spriggan, spriggan matron, etc. including burnt spriggans.  If I see the spriggan before it moves, I can console kill it, and the CTD doesn't happen.  It also doesn't happen if the spriggan is standing still.  The CTD doesn't happen with any other creatures.

I am fairly certain this is not a Creature Framework, MNC, or SLNC issue as I've removed those mods, cleaned the save, purged overwrite\meshes\actors, and re-run FNIS.  Still get the issue.

I thought maybe it was a spell mod mucking with the spriggans' spell effects, so I tried disabling Apocalypse and More Apocalypse.  That wasn't it.

It appears to be some kind of bad save data, maybe--I can coc qasmoke, console placeatme a spriggan, and don't have any problems.  But I want to fix the issue instead of start over.  I have tried all the things in Save Cleaner, but to no effect.

EDIT: Using MO and FNIS.  Load order sorted with LOOT.

I would check meshes/actors folder and delete all files that you might have for Spriggans then Steam verify file integrity for Skyrim to recover any missing data... you may have to clean plugins again with TESVedit but it's a small price to pay. Then run FNIS before testing.

Note: since you're using MO and I don't know where it likes to create mod files for its many profile options, you'll have to look there instead.

I had to restart a game after 2,000 hours. No big deal. Gave me an opportunity to finally take Requiem for a spin. Totally worth it.

There is only one folder for all profiles: the mod folder.

That's nice.

Sometimes i whish it would be different, if you deal with different profiles you'll always see all mods installed for any profile. Which can be confusing ;)

But technical it's pretty nice, yes.

That reminds me another good reason why I don't use MO.  Too much unnecessary confusion just to solve simple problems.  :-)

Well, you don't need to use 10 different profiles. It's just an option NMM doesn't have^^

Sometimes i leave a profile for a new game to play other/updated mods and 6 months later i wish i could go back, but then i can't remember which mods and which versions i used... but it's not like NMM would offer any better options for that. ;)

I guess i could make a backup of the mod folder if i want to leave a profile for a while, but usually i'm too lazy. So what i use in general is one profile for playing and one to test alpha/beta mods to see if they work, give feedback and if they might fit into my main game. With two profiles it's not really a problem as long as you name the beta versions properly. Although often enough my main game depends a lot on beta mods either. ;) I don't really care about doing the main story, often actually avoid it to learn that i'm dragonborn and just play the adult mods.

So... everytime i find something doesn't work i may finish the mod and then start a new game anyways.

LOL!  Most people don't enjoy starting all over just because they can't solve a problem.  But good for you though.

Well, every time is exaggerated but once you get stack dumps and your scripts are broken there is little choice. You could try to reinstall the mods, but i'd need to start from scratch then, pointless for quest mods. That way i don't have to bother how script heavy my game is... i play the quests and start another game with other mods^^

And since i don't care much about the vanilla story, most LL quest mods aren't made for high level characters. At least i consider it more realistic to be enslaved at lvl1 or maybe 10 than at lvl 250^^

Got it.  With all the options out there, you prefer to play as a weak female who gets enslaved.  Cool.

I usually play a sneaky archer. That way i'm pretty well able to kill enemies... as long as they don't see me. ;) I don't use trainers, so i'm detected often enough...

In other RPGs i've always played mages, but i found the options for mages in Skyrim quite unsatisfying. No real mass destruction at high levels, and too weak in general. I always planned a playthrough with some mage overhaul, but at least since the two years i'm playing Skyrim, i'm more intrested in weak dragonporn than powerful dragonborn. :)
