No changes made for a while, no mods added and everything looked good, played good (1080ti is awesome) and now suddenly heavy fog eventually brings out some weird glitch, the dark parts of shadows goes pure black even at a distance. Logging all the way out, then back in seems to fix it for a short while and I have seen nothing like this other than in fog.

I saw this before a couple months back but it just magically fixed itself. It might just be the game's system glitch. There are still plenty of bugs in Fallout 4.

If it's not just a bug it may likely have something to do with the ENB you're using... specifically the depth of field.

I get this in fog and I think , although I'm not 100% sure , that it could be related to ambient occlusion and maybe the NVHBAO type specifically ( or any ambient occlusion setting if not ) . Ambient occlusion gives kinda micro shadows to stuff giving a far superior depth to your graphics and in 90% of conditions makes your game look way better than without it . So if this is the trade off for it then I personally think it's worth putting up with to make your game look better the rest of the time when it isn't foggy . Again , I might be wrong and / or you might not be willing to put up with it or not in your case , if it is the cause of that . But that's your decision . I do think it will be related to that though . It's certainly not a fault with your graphics card .

Actually I dont have an enb installed, I got the new pc about a month ago and after adding all hd textures and true storms with some lighting tweaks the game has looked amazing (I actually didnt even know I had so much input lag on my old pc, I am a much better shot now) and have been using this set of mods trying to stamp out any issues. I started a fresh game to play for a while...and this...

I am trying some playing around with settings now, I will mess with AO, thanks for a direction. The card is about a month old so hopefully not that, I did go into true storms holotape and force clear weather which immediately fixed the problem although I am sure it will come back next heavy fog....its always less somethings than oldrim was by far but its still always something lol.

Try a Fog Replacer or play around with the Game Resolution and Graphics.

I have always used True Storms but I will look around and see if I can experiment...hmmm maybe some load order experiments also. Thank you.
