Vakala'che Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I'm not sure if I should post this here or elsewhere, so if I'm mistaken, moderators, don't hesitate to correct me. Hello! I'm new here (been lurking a lot though for mods) and well...recently I decided to try and do some stuff in TES5edit aside the usual prep when adding mods. I've downloaded a lot of armor mods and well, I wanted to add crafting conditions (CTDA) and add/edit the items needed to craft them. So far, so good. The thing is, when facing mods with a lot of different items that make the armor, this becomes a very tedious task. Do any of you know a way to batch edit such things? Is that even possible? Many thanks for reading this and sharing your knowledge on the subject.
Princess Cake Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I don't know of batch controls but I have a few TES5Edit/FO3Edit/FNVEdit speed pointers when I don't feel like spending an hour editing my files...-Don't double click on text fields, just start typing and it will let you immediately edit text-Obviously if you're using the same entries over and over don't forget to copy/paste-If you're using mods that conflict with each other you can quickly drag text from the columns of one mod to the other-Arrange files by name to quickly find the file you want (IE Sword of Derp Derp)-Don't type entire text fields, if you're editing something like crafting ingredients just type the first few characters and a drop-down box will highlight what you're likely typing out
Varithina Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Take a look here, for the craft and tempering stuff, they are on sse nexus but the do work with this version of skyrim as I have used them when making merged weapons or armour packs, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/2722124/?tb=mods&pUp=1 I found the above scripts about 2 days after manually adding them to luxurious collection Do be aware though the choose their materials based on the weapon or armour material set in the items informations so if there is a sword set as iron it will take the same stuff to craft as a vanilla iron sword would same for the tempering, though it would not affect the weapons stats, so if they are closer to say ebony tough, you would need to alter the weapon material settings to get them correct, this may only bother you if you use something to distribute to level lists and npc's though. As for the other things check out this , http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49373/? it may have some of the things you want to do included with it.
Uhuk.hgok Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Let me second the Automation Tools; Particularly, you want to check out QuickDisplay (to dump out base records to CSV) and QuickChange (to load in the changes you make from the CSV). It also includes a script to batch-add breakdown recipes for things that have recipes to make them. Run this after you're satisfied with the crafting recipes, because it uses the crafting recipe to figure out what to uncraft it into.
Vakala'che Posted August 8, 2017 Author Posted August 8, 2017 Thank you for your quick replies, I appreciate. The trick of not double clicking in TES5Edit saves a lot of time, thanks Princess Cake! And I checked out the Automation Tools and the other scripts - Thank you Varthina for pointing those out to me, for it did save me quite a bit of time for several things. However, with the Automation Tools, despite reading the added guide and all the comments on the mod itself, I can't seem to actually make the adding part to CTDA and Items work. Each and every time I get an error, even when I try different syntaxes while trying to use "Add" or "Element Assign". Except when I use this "Conditions\[0]\CTDA - \Function" with value "HasPerk" but then nothing actually happens. Does any of you know how to make it work? Or give me a quick walkthrough? I'm frankly quite at the end of my wits with this one.
