Dunno if this fits into the "hentai" category, but I figured perhaps I should start a discussion on this~

 

Anyone know why alot of "18+" Otome games (visual novels included) tend to all have the same kinda cliched routes?

and by that i mean like...it almost seems like a requirement to have Adult Otome games have atleast 1 rape scene / route, have the girl be treated like a whore on the off chance she actually ENJOYS the sex, and possibly even something to do with tentacles? (then again the latter could simply just be Japan x3)

Yeah but i've discussions on other sites about this, and generally the consensus seems to be "because they just do, don't question it" x3

It just makes me wonder whos idea it was at first to be like "hmmm, lets have a forced, un-skipable rape route for the MC"

It's what sells. It's like a mold that you can add all kinds of specific fetishes to if you want, but the base is still there.

Oh I know, its just wierd how i've gone to sites / forums and asked like "Yo, does anyone know of an adult otome game without rape / tentacles / etc?", and been laughed at.

People can like whatever wierdish fetishes they want without being judged, but why I cant find a decent "Vanilla" one is beyond me~

I dunno about rape but i believe "kousuru oniisama" doesnt have tentacle and sort of like vanilla, they have 2 version of it as well.

I don't really keep track of the hentai games i play, but i can't really recall anything that didnt have rape or tentacles in it right now. Funny how that is the norm instead of the vanilla stuff.

I don't really mind if the games have it, so long as it isn't mandatory / forced on you.

worse yet, some like RPG style games like CoC or such where you like NEED to leave your fetish comfort zone to progress the story.
