TTRJN Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Honestly, I have bery slightest idea about texturing UV maps of outfits, but last 2 days I've spent hours to figure out solution to my problem. No success, but I've learned more about Zbrush, Mudbox and other 3d editing software than in my previous life. Let's cut to the chase. There's 2B's armor which has these white patterns: They seem to be a bit off, and I generally don't want that texture and wanna replace it with my variant. Thing is, I don't know how to do it properly. Pattern in DDS texture is warped and adapted to the shape of the skirt and also has some kind of fabric texture applied to it. I don't want to break fabric look and feel, I relly don't. I also want to add a slight bump to my new pattern and maybe some kind of metallic gloss (you know, there are shiny metallic threads that you can buy and put here and there to make patterns look fancy). I just have no idea.Much appreciated.
Tsarsalami Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 If you want metallic shine youll need a cubemap, found this as an alternative: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_cubemaps_for_Skyrim I would suggest that you open the texture in Gimp or photoshop/ whatever and just mess around, trial and error. Im not supergood at this, but like to mess with textures and searched a bit on google. Soo, google is your friend
SlapMeSilly Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Newer versions of Photoshop can load an OBJ and let you paint directly on the 3D model. Some 3rd party plugins allow such as well. I think Quixel is the name of one. Otherwise it's a matter of trying to visualize in your head where the texture file wraps to conform on the mesh. Trying to paint on a 2d flat surface to wrap on a 3d mesh is kinda hard if you're not seasoned to it. (I'm not!)
whatwhenwhy Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Can I have a dl link for this? I would like to take a look, maybe figure out something for your problem.
