enabling crafting for custom armor question

I have a couple of armor/item mods that I enjoy using, I'd like to enable them to be crafted like most armors or such are. I've really never touched the CK and trying to follow along with this tutorial. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Making_an_item_craftable_for_Skyrim

 

Right now I thought I'd try something easy like making this little mod craftable http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1828-anal-torch/ Figured I'd make it so a few pieces of charcoal and firewood would make the item. Would also prefer to make it so said torch has a duration and not permanent but thats a bit beyond what I'd like to do.

 

Anyways, trying to follow the tutorial, but being a novice at the CK, I have no idea what i am doing. Like first question, do I find and open the analtorch esm file, or base skyrims esm file? I use another mod called Craftable torches which allows you to make a normal torch and it uses the recipe I just mentioned above to craft, I'd like to emulate that but have the final outcome be the other one.
