Got "Violated heroine" to work, was a real pain in the lower back on my win 10 installation, here some tips:

You will need to add support for Japanese Language in your region settings, making it primary however is not required.

Changing the region also will not do anything, just add the support for now.

"Applocale" will not work on win10 "Locale Emulator" kinda works but not perfect.

Grab the RTP and the latest (170722) Version of the game (Netty Folder) from here:

http://violatedheroine.referata.com/wiki/Violated_Heroine

Unpack the RPG2000RTP.exe of the RTP, ignore everything else.

Please note the RTP contains non-Unicode characters in some files, "Locale Emulator" will not help you with this, the installation stops at 44%.

You will need to go to you  Region settings and hit the additional settings in the text below your installed Languages.

You will be brought to a  Language setting which does not fit the new style of windows settings (Old control panel)

Click on Language

Click Date time number settings on the left

In the rightmost tab there is a setting for unicode inkompatible programs, change this to Japanese and reboot you system.

You should be able to install the RTP now.

While already on it, unpack the game somewhere.

Please note: the game uses a direct write method which is no longer supported (16 bit colors low res), trying to run the game in full-screen will make it crash.

"RPG_RT.exe" always starts in fullscreen, and will crash by default, " RTP_RT_FatalMix2010.exe" always starts windowed, and will only crash when trying to make it fullscreen.

To circumvent this you will need to click on the respective exe's properties select compatibility and tick the option to run it with reduced colors (8-bit (265))

Alternative:

Spoiler

Only use RTP_RT_FatalMix2010.exe and grab "anotherfullscreenmode" from Cherry:

http://www.makerpendium.de/index.php?title=AnotherFullscreenMode

Place the exe in the game folder and launch it after you've launched the game.

It makes the game less flickery than Windows Compatibility setting.

Also gives you nice filtering options (may make text less readable tough).

It may glich out while multitasking (black window) and cause memory leak.

(Suddenly getting a low-memory-warning on a machine with 16 Gig  is kinda scary)

The Game should run perfectly for as long as you keep your Non-unicode settings to Japanese, however you may also change it back to (whatever it was) and install ""Locale Emulator":

http://pooi.moe/Locale-Emulator/

You then can run the game trough Locale emulator, and it should run for the most part,

however expect some stray characters in the Text and some icons to not get displayed correctly.

The game might also crash in certain conditions, for example when trying to masturbate.

Locale Emulator is not quite perfect yet.

fare67t,

The guide on the Wiki seems to have been written for win 7.

I also remember it is possible to get the old Apploacale to run on win7, however you will need to jump through a few hoops for that,

there might be a better solution somewhere...

However getting support for Japanese in general on a win7 (non ultimate), was an entire different beast, since you are not allowed to just install it on your "poor man's edition".

I remember i had to download it from a MS repository, unpack its content, and then using the console to mount it and integrate it into the system somehow.
