[Discussion] Actor reflections or wall mirrors possible?

Hello everyone,

I know this has been brought up before and there are massive limitations and performance issues understood in the Creation engine dealing with reflecting actors. I'm curious if in the past couple years anyone has had any strokes of genius in working around these issues. If possible I'd like to look into it. Water reflections if it can be done and wall mirrors. I don't really know much about the water but I have a couple thoughts about wall mirrors. If actual reflections for actors can't be achieved then I have a probably expensive alternative. Maybe a false/duplicate cell with duplicate actors. This could only feasibly be done for the player and npcs directly involved with the mod. And small rooms/cells. Everything would likely have to be arranged from scratch. As far as movement goes I have two thoughts. The first is to hack and reverse the axis values for the following script so that when you move further away so does your duplicate and when you move closer they do the same. There would be follower lag (they don't usually move instantaneously) but it would be functional. Sort of. My second idea is to use paired animation. Eating, sitting, dancing...hm, I really can't think of anything else. Oh well. Unless scripted by the animation, your duplicate would play the same animation that you do. Custom cell modeling, custom scripting, custom animations...like I said expensive. But hypothetically possible. Any thoughts? This something that could be done or am I off my rocker?

Defining a WaterType that works like a mirror is technically possible, but is impossible to have it totally still.

The main character, in the first person, is not rendered at all, so it cannot be reflected because it is not in the scene.

On the third person, it will be reflected.
