Non Scarred version 1.1A

IF you get the bug that when you are swapped to the wrong race then see the text in the next spoiler.

Old, Version 1.0

http://www.mediafire.com/?ce52ioe0y8a3e12

The details...

1.1A

Fixed the no scar version. The non scared version had the chest scars when you went vampire. That is now fixed in 1.1A

1.1

I made two versions this time, one with the custom body and one without.

For the scarred version, 100% weight is recommended, any lower the hands color will not match.

Non Scarred version 1.1. This removes the custom body so it uses your default body mod. Weight recommended 50 or below, any higher causes the hands to be a different color.

IF you get the bug that when you are swapped to the wrong race when made vampire, then in the console type player.setrace Misharacevampire and that should make you switch to the correct Misha Vampire template.

1.0

This is a direct copy of Misha from Girls of Skyrim - add 4 Companions and includes the Misha companion from basskimm mod. All the thanks should go to basskimm and not I. I just crudely put his work into a custom race.

Seriously thank basskimm. =)

Enjoy!

good work' date=' may i ask how u did it? used facegen or recreated it?

[/quote']

I used Facegen.

Here is what I did.

Load the companion mod in the CK.

Start off making a new custom race. Duplicated the Nord and Nord Vampire in this example and renamed them, Click no to to the first box saying "create a new form" when changing the name but click yes after to the 2nd rename confirmation.

I then set the base Morph Race to Nord, and set the Armor Race to Default in the General Data tab.

Then added the new race to the appropriate form lists. So an example of that is PlaybleRace, RacesHuman, HeadPartsHuman, HeadPartsAllRacesMinusBeast, and such. Note Vampire should be added to the ones where they go in. If the other races have vampire versions in there then you know to include it hehe.

Now go to the actors tab and locate your NPC. Open it up and in the traits tab make sure is CharGenPreset is checked.

Now go to your custom race and go to the preset tab. Make sure you add this to the correct gender, so in this case make sure you check female at the top and then right click the preset list and add the NPC you want to copy. Removing the other presets can cause crashes, so save before you try.

OK so now you can have the face shape of the NPC if you select that preset, what you need to do now is to make the custom features that NPC uses as playable.

The easy way I suggest to do is to enting into the filter and enter the NPC name and then select the *all at the bottem to see everything with that name. Find the custom pieces and select the plyable bos if they have them. Example, FemaleBrowsHuman23_Misha once selected as playable allows your preset to use that texture. The ones you need to make playable should be the HDPT form types.

You should also check the body texture files if they have them, example NakedHands_Misha. You need to make sure on the races that can use it your custom race is listed. The form list earlier edited might have them enabled but if it didn't then you can do it manually.

Next go back to your custom race and enter the body tab. Under skin find the custom body, aaBodyArmor_Misha in this case. Note not all NPCs will use a custom body.

Last Step! You have to set your custom races tinting in the tinting tab. This is trial and error because the NPC tinting looks different than the PC tinting. I suggest you open the NPC tinting tab and replicate it, and then tone aspects down if need be.

Now everything should be done. Start up a game and select your custom race and then select your NPC preset. If you didn't delete the old resets it should be the last preset.

Enjoy!

This is an optional step.

If you want your custom race to not get stuck on the DB cook quest then do this.

Download and active Racial Compatibility v1-7. From Creating a Playable Race - The right way by Expired on Nexus.

Select Racialcompatibility.esm as a master. Open your custom race and in the keywords tab on the right hand side right click and select add. Then select ActorProxyNord (or select differently depending on want your race to be for the cook quest). Do this for the vampire custom race as well.

For advanced users you can make werewolves and Vampires to work 100% correct but that will have to be explained by someone else.

I quite literally stumbled upon it learning to do this for Sera hehe. I more tried to document how I did it so others can see how they could try to do it themselves.

I was toying with the idea of trying Lyla. Everything worked, the issue is the custom body uses a non naked model. If I Don't use the custom model body then custom head will not match the standard body. The solution is to import a new body into NPC custom body folder and replace and hope the tinting applies. Feeling lazy I just said F it for now, I have a DnD character to create for Sunday hehe.

Heyo everyone

Hmm, I'll for sure have to do a read on your guide for how you did all of that as well. Always wise to document what you've done, especially for yourself to refer to when you forget a step ;p

Those npcs were pretty amazing looking and its nice to have a custom race of their look as well. I'll for sure have to try it out. Some reason I got less issues with custom races, than the vanilla lol. No idea why, but anytime I try to do anything custom to a vanilla race....stuff just seems to be very buggy.

Custom race though..doesn't seem to have those kind of issues.

As for being lazy because you have a create a character; sounds like my favorite past time. Good ole pen and paper ftw :D

changing body type and tex for it aint that much of a work, try to add hundreds of tints for every face part and skin also quite a lot of eyes and brows and other shit + custom chargen files, thats what i'm currently doin to Ashen race lol. so far have done most of the desired stuff.

Thnx XJ347 for posting your step by step description which I gave a try out.

The only bit I was confused at was "Then added the new race to the appropriate form lists. So an example of that is PlaybleRace, RacesHuman, HeadPartsHuman, HeadPartsAllRacesMinusBeast, and such. Note Vampire should be added to the ones where they go in. If the other races have vampire versions in there then you know to include it hehe." (I can be a bit of a Homer Simpson when it comes to this) as I couldn't find the form lists.

Anyway I carried on with the rest and feel as if I'm getting there but not quite.

This is the companion I'm trying to make as a preset - Pretty Assassin Ari

This is what I've managed to do so far - Preset Ari

It's not quite exact but it's a start, at least the hair is correct.

Form Lists

Object window -> Miscellaneous -> Form List

You should only need the form lists if you want the options to change the preset inside the games character creation. If you are going to keep the preset as is then you shouldn't need to touch it I think. EDIT: Ohh you need to add the race into the form list so you can wear gear.

thedoctor38, it looks like you have the preset in. What appears missing is the custom races tinting needs to be adjusted to match the tinting of the NPC.

Their are slight seems, I think this was made to work at 100% weight and not designed for less. The hands will not match the color of the body if you go under 100% weight. This happens with the NPC too if you change her weight and I lack the expertise to adapt it properly.

If you'd manage to fix the body-texture-weight issue, this would be awesome. =)

If you could do Lyla, I'd be forever in your debt. I'd do it myself but I don't have the CK. Thanks for sharing it and the tutorial though!

I am working on Lyla but she has a different issue, and it is above my head. I throw a few hours here and there at it but it isn't pretty.

There appears to be a Nif missing information for her. It has enough info to be used on an NPC but doesn't work when assigned to a player character. I am not the only one that has the head not work.

So everything works BUT the head is the stock shape. Since the head is stock shape the eyes stick outside the head slightly so you would need to use different eyes.

I might try Misha's head mesh tomorrow and see how that ends up.

i get CTD when i try and load the race in race selection it sits there trying to load the race and then the game crashes

I doubt your crashing has anything to do with this mod. It is more likely connected with your computer. Even I CTD when switching my race to any female in a populated area. I bet you crash if you switch over to female, of ANY race, in the normal starting area.

What is happening I think is the game loads ALL the female meshes and textures at once, when it just had the men information loaded and it overloads the system. I know it did for me. Other options is to lower the games resolution temporarily until you have your character made, then you can go back. If you are starting from scratch I would use the Alternate Beginning mod. You have the option to still use normal opening but you get to make your character first, so the strain on your system is less.

If you'd manage to fix the body-texture-weight issue, this would be awesome. =)

Well what I can do is replace the custom body with a new body, hell I can swap in a new NIF if you want UNP and such. That should fix the hand to torso color issue but the torso and head then would not match because of the tinting and the seam would get even worse if you change bodies. I might give it a try tomorrow and see if my suspicions are right.

That face preset is awesome though =) I tryed adding it to a a race that has working body slider (Yaksha) - but face was missing in game :D

I've tried and tried the other girls, Lyla, Amanda and Michelle to the point it's giving me a headache lol but still not working through CK. At least I have Dawnguard to take my mind of it.

Yeah I got distracted with dawnguard, and now I will be out of town for a week.

I think I can fix this mod to make it dawnguard compatible. I got my custom race I use for my own game to be compatible. Doing it for this should be easy, but not sure if i can find the time. Flight in the AM and all.

Maybe I can slip it in right now.

What I'm trying to do now is even export the faces and such of one of the other girls onto another save character rather than trying to make a race. Someone said it was possible to do with wryebash so later on I'm gonna have a look at it and see if that works.

I didn't even think about that. Thought you could only do that with Oblivion, but who knows.

Well I'm going to be out of town, watching my grandfather die... Yeah /sigh

So I will be gone for a week or so. Anyways I updated to 1.1 which adds vampire support. There is a bug which I do not have time to properly fix. If you get made into the wrong vampire race then in the console ---> player.setrace misharacevampire

That should swap you to the Misha vampire race. Note it keeps the custom face so you do not have the UGLY new vampire face!

My test attempt didn't have the swap bug but it did apply the default face which is HIDEOUS! So in the end I would rather have the extra step to fix the race and stay pretty than work the first time but be ugly using the base face textures.

Well I gave it a try and so far getting errors as I've never used wryebash before. Get the feeling it won't ultimately work. I've tried to get in contact with those modders who work on wryebash but no reply from them as of yet.

You would think a face import would be easy especially from companion mods that are standalone but it seems at the mo its not that easy. Maybe some bright intelligent modder will come up with a mod that allows you to import a face to your character face in the near future.

Hey! First time posting on here. I'd just like to say that I really appreciate the work you're trying to do. I'm one of those guys that'd really like to get Lyla as a PC, but from what I've read there are some issues. Personlly I'm a complete newb at the CK, just launched it for the first time a few days ago. Thought I'd try to make a custom race myself, but it wasn't as easy as I initially thought..

@XJ347 - So if you get her working, I'm atleast one that would be very grateful!

I hope you're alright though, my grandma passed away a few months back. It's hard..
